YSL Couture Variation Palette **

There is no doubt that Yves Saint Laurent is one of the most influential designers in the world when it comes to haute couture/fashion and luxe beauty. When the YSL Couture Variation palette released I had nothing but high expections…and they were all exceeded!

The YSL Couture Variation Palette is inspired by the fabrics of Yves Saint Laurent and features 10 expert eye colours packaged in a long, sleek and luxurious black and gold glossy palette. Included is a dual-ended expert applicator which helps to line and blend shadows.

The YSL Couture Variation palette comes in two different variations - 'Nu' and 'Tuxedo'. The Couture Variation Palette in 'Nu' is designed for fool-proof, easy-to-achieve eye looks that are wearable and appropriate for both day and night, or transitioning from day to night. Tuxedo is more for bold, smokey statement eye looks.

The texture of these eyeshadows are soft and finely milled, yielding a strong and intense colour pay off. Their unbelievably pigmented and smooth colours blend seamlessly together to achieve infinite signature looks.

'Nu' comprises 10 neutral shades consisting of beige, bronze and browns hues. This palette covers all finishes from matte to shimmer, satin and iridescent with shades ranging from pale to deep. YSL Couture Variation palette includes one base colour, three light shades, three medium shades and three dark shades. The lighter shades are used to create volume and illuminate the eyes, medium shades help to shape and design the eyes by adding colour and contrast and the darker shades are used to shape and intensify the eyes. All of the shades in this palette compliment each other so well, allowing flexibility to create a multitude of different looks.

My only disappointment with this palette is that it does not seem to have a transition shade, however I was able to create one by mixing the medium-dark matte brown and the base colour together to soften the intensity. Despite that, I am more than pleased with the range of shades, the look and feel of the palette and the quality of the eyeshadows.

This palette is currently available here at Adore Beauty and retails for $129 Aud.

I highly recommend checking out Adorebeauty.com, they have a plethora of quality brands and products covering skincare, haircare and make up.

If you're a lover of luxury beauty and you're interested in a quality neutral palette (or if you have an unhealthy obsession with neutral palettes…) You're definitely going to want to add this YSL palette to your collection...and life.
