Clarisonic Mia FIT *

The latest in sonic cleansing has now joined the Clarisonic family! The Clarisonic Mia's little sister, the Mia FIT is now more compact and lightweight - beauty that literally fits in the palm of your hands!

Clarisonic's sonic cleansers are designed to give your skin a gentle cleanse, at least 6 times better than hands alone for a more smoother, radiant and healthy looking complexion. Their patented range of sonic frequency oscillates between 200-350 movements per second and helps to visibly transform the skin's texture and appearance. Unlike spinning devices, which can be fairly harsh and potentially damage the surface layer and elasticity of the skin, the Clarisonic oscillates resulting in a cradle-rocking motion that works to loosen dirt and oils and removes impurities from deep within the pores allowing for topical treatments and skincare to be better absorbed for optimum results.

Clarisonic skin benefits includes deep cleansing to remove dirt, debris and oil that clogs the pores and causes imperfection and dullness. The interchangeable cleansing brushes effectively reduces oils where sebum accumulates to minimises the appearance of enlarged pores by flexing them to clean deep within. This device provides a very, gentle cleanse without abrading or disrupting the skin's barrier and could also improve the appearance of ageing skin that can be caused by an excess build-up of make up and debris.

The compact size of the new Clarisonic  Mia Fit makes it lightweight and portable - great to travel with because, unlike it's predecessors, it has a USB enabled universal voltage charger meaning that you do not need to find a compatible adaptor in order to charge it in foreign countries. It is completely waterproof and safe to use in the shower or immersed in water even though I do not recommend leaving it in water after each use - instead, it should be air dried. Included with each device charger, a radiance brush head and a sample size cleanser (30ml).

The Mia FIT is a daily sonic cleanser that has a two-speed setting; speed setting 1 delicately cleanses away impurities, sunscreen and make up for up to 60 seconds and is recommended for everyday cleansing (gentle enough to be used twice a day) and speed setting 2 gives you a 80 second power cleanse, suitable for post workouts or long-wear make up removal.

Prior to using the Clarisonic for the first time, it is important to allow the device to charge for 24 hours before usage. After the first initial charge, you can expect it to operate for up to 18 hours before the battery is depleted. As previously mentioned, Clarisonic devices come with interchangeable brush heads which are also sold separately and can be removed with the cap on and firmly twisted anticlockwise. Each brush head should cleaned after each use and replaced every 3 months.

This device is compatible for all skin types and and can be used in conjunction with cleansers ranging from oil, gel, foam or cream. I have dehydrated dry skin, so I find cream and foam cleansers are the most gentle and soothing on my skin. Since it is solely a cleansing device and not actually a exfoliator, it's does not and should not cause inflammation or irritations and should not be used with exfoliants or products containing beads or any other abrasive granules. For optimum results, this device should be used in slow linear motions in opposed to circular motions with a heavy hand which can cause a fair bit of redness and leave the skin feeling raw and sensitive.

Cleansing with the Clarisonic Mia Fit delivers instant and fairly dramatic results; my skin is brighter, soft to the touch, smoother and a lot less gritty and congested. Since it is gentle enough to be used twice a day, I use it in the morning before applying make up and at night to remove it.

The Clarisonic Mia Fit is now available in 3 different colours online at Clarisonic.com.au, or in stores at Sephora and Mecca Maxima.

This is how we dew it ft. Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil and Face Fit skin treatments. *

Launching today is the feather-light Dermalogica Phyto Replenish face Oil. Made up of plant-based active ingredients, the Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil can be used daily to restore depleted lipids and provide a healthy, luminous glow to the skin.

Phyto Replenish Oil assists in strengthening and restoring the skin’s natural barriers to shield against environmental stressors, smooth visible lines and preserve moisture for all-day dewy skin. As we age, lipids in our skin diminish and as a result, lead to dehydration, sensitization and wrinkling. Factors including diet, environment, stress and over-exfoliating can cause the skin to appear more dull and lackluster.

The Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil comes in a solid white glass bottle (props for gender-neutral packaging) with a twist-off cap. It is marketed as a face oil that follows cleansing and toning, to be used on it’s own or mixed in with a moisturizer, SPF or primer before make up for a dewy base. It is recommended that 4-6 drops are pressed into the skin before moisturizing, however based on my own experiences with this product; as little as 3-4 drops can be stretched to completely cover an entire face, down the neck and across the décolletage.

The Phyto Replenish Oil is very lightweight on the skin and is fast absorbing. It blends effortlessly and feels smooth and hydrating on cleansed and exfoliated skin. Despite the fact that this is an oil-based product, it has a very light texture that does not feel at all heavy, greasy or clogging. Ideally, this product is great for people with normal to dry skin types, however it is compatible with all skin types and textures and is gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin for a luminous, dewy appearance. I have severely dehydrated and dry textured skin; this product helped to smooth over roughness, minimise the look of creasing, fine lines and control the loss of moisture throughout the day without causing irritations or break outs.

This face oil is comprised of:

- Camellia Japonica: An antioxidant oil to strengthen the skins barrier and stimulates collagen to provide wrinkle-reducing benefits.
- Tamanu Oil: A potent antioxidant that inhibit the breakdown of lipid-rich cell membranes that are caused by free radicals.
- Chia Seed Oil: Another antioxidant which delivers fatty acids to hydrate and sooth dry and itchy skin.
- Orchid Flower extract: Aids in balancing the skin’s natural moisturizing factor.
- Hyaluronic Acid: Anti-irritant antioxidant which provides a surge of hydration.
- Sunflower Seed Oil: Rich source of Vitamin E, preserving the skin’s barrier and defending it against free radicals.
- Rice Bran Oil: Rich in Vitamin B and E to protect the skin against UV rays, free radicals and promotes cellular circulation.

Not only does this product provide a number of skincare benefits, but can be used for a multitude of purposes – you can use it to custom blend sunscreen, moisturizer, primer or foundation or add a few drops onto your beauty blender to blend your face make up.

Along with the release of the Phyto Replenish Oil, Dermalogica will be introducing the Dermalogica Face Fit, which is a curated range of express facial treatments to cater to your skin. The Face Fit is a 10-minute treatment designed to be fit in with a busy lifestyle, which also offers a face mapping skin analysis with a professional therapist to determine the best treatment option for each individual. Face fit treatments are designed to leave the complexion smooth and expertly primed. These treatments will also be available from November 1st at Dermalogica Skin Bars at authorized Dermalogica spas, salons, skin centres and David Jones stores nationwide for $15, which are fully redeemable on product purchases.

List of treatments available are:

- Dewy Skin (note: Available for a limited time only)
- Perfectly Primed
- Power Peel
- Rapid Hydration Booster
- Brilliant Eyes
- Rapid Radiance

This product is now available on counters and online and currently retail for $120 AUD.

MBFWA: Steven Khalil x Bobbi Brown

Couturier and designer Steven Khalil has just showcased his latest couture collection at the Mecedes-Benz Fashion Week for 2017 Resort Collection. This is one of the most anticipated shows from this weeks line-up and it is the brand's second consecutive year at MBFWA, the first being the 20th anniversary for both the label and for MBFWA.

This year, the collection features a mixture of both classical and modern elements through exquisite tailoring and unique designs; muted monochromatic palette, exclusive textured fabrics, sheer Italian Organza complete with hand beading and embroidery.

Partnering with Bobbi Brown, Steven Khalil debuts his collection with fresh and luxe make up. Drawing inspiration from the romantic lights that resonates from the Eiffel Tower at nightfall, make up director and Bobbi Brown lead artist Alphie Sadsad made the eyes the focal point of the look to complement a flawless demi-matte skin finish with subtle flushed cheeks and softly-stained lips.

To recreate this 'Paris by night' runway look, start by prepping the skin with the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Moisture Balm and face mist. Skin Foundation Cushion Compact will follow with a Nude Finish Illuminating Powder. Brows are filled in with the Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brow Pencil and Sparkle Eye Shadow in 'Silver Lilac', 'Sunlight' and 'Silver Moon' are applied and pressed onto the entire lid and inner corners of the eye with fingers. The eye look is then complete with Bobbi Brown's Eye Opening Mascara. To finish the look, the Bobbi Brown Blush in 'Pale Pink' is swept over the cheeks and lips are  stained with the Bobbi Brown Lip Colour in 'Pale Pink'.

"When I think of couture, I think of Paris. When I think about Paris, I think about Paris, by night. I wanted to create a look that is bright and sparkling, like the Eiffel Tower."

- Alphie Sadsad, Bobbi Brown Make Up Director

MBFWA: Yeojin Bae x Bobbi Brown Cosmetics

Yeojin Bae has debuted her latest collection CONTEMPLATION this week at Mecedes-Benz Fashion Week, showcasing a chic and atheletic mood via architectural silhouettes and strong, bold colours. This year, Yeojin Bae partners with Bobbi Brown to create a classically elegant and naturally nude looks that are tailor made for each model. Make up is synonymous with Bobbi Brown's philosophy; the right foundation should make you look like you're not wearing any foundation at all.

To recreate this look, apply Bobbi Brown's Nude Finish Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15, followed by the Skin Foundation Stick and retouching powder. Eye make up is subtle and neutral; brows are groomed and polished with the Natural Brow Shaper & Hair Touch Up in 'Clear' and eyes are lined with Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, finished with the Intensifying Long-wear Mascara. Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks in Uber Beige is applied to the cheeks and Lip Balm SPF15 is used to prep the lips before colour is applied.

"Bobbi believes every woman should own a nude lip shade. Like a 'little black dress' this shade will always work and instantly makes any woman look more polished and pulled together. Use the colour of your natural lip as a guide when selecting your shade."

- Alphie Sadsad, Lead Artist Bobbi Brown for Yeojin Bae

MBFWA: Romance Was Born x SEPHORA

SEPHORA has partnered with iconic, contemporary fashion designer label, Romance Was Born for Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week to support the debut of their 'Whispering Angel' Resort Collection 2017.

The beauty focus for the runway was inspired by 'Liberace Angels' aligning with the inspiration for the Whispering Angel Collection. Creative Director, Linda Jefferyes, lead the Sephora Beauty Studio artists to create an ethereal Liberace inspired look featuring bold, saturated colours using products from the Sephora Collection.

Each different coloured looks featured an exaggeration of the lips and blotting out the lip line to create a prominent cupid's bow. Eye colours were blended through the socket and under the eyes for a sleek and modern look and a few of the models adorned bold glitter eyebrows.

These looks are achieved by rejuvenating the skin with the Sephora Collection Super Regenerating Oil-Serum. The Sephora Collection Wonderful Cushion Foundation and the Sephora Collection Teint Infusion Natural Finish foundation are mixed and applied to create a dewy skin complexion. Colour is then added to the cheeks with the Sephora Collection Wonderful Cushion Blush. The Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick was then used to create a pop of colour on both the lips to complement eye looks which are the focal point of every look. The Sephora Collection Contour eye pencils are used around the eyes to create a dramatic look and are blended out using the Sephora Collection Colour Shadow and liner.

Strikingly bold and beautiful!
