Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

If you've seen my previous post you would have already known that when I picked up my Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation I also got the Too Faced Melted Liquid lipstick in the shade Chihuahua. Since that day, this has been my go-to lip product because it is the perfect nude for my skin tone. On my lips this colour looks almost like "my lips, but better".

This lipstick claims to have the staying power of a stain with an intense colour of a liquid lipstick and a high shine of a gloss. This product is meant to have a super rich, highly saturated colour that lasts comfortably for hours - also vegan friendly!

The packaging of this product is a squeeze-tube with a sponge-tip applicator containing 0.4fl. oz/12ml. With this lipstick, you'll need to squeeze firmly before any product is dispensed making it easy to control and hard to waste. Personally, I don't mind the sponge tip applicator it may seem a bit unhygenic, awkward or uncomfortable but it's firm and cushiony making it quite easy to apply and provides a very smooth, even coverage. Probably not the best to use for layering ontop of other colours though as it can stain the applicator and ruin it for future use. In terms of its precision the nude shades are easier to apply than bolder colours in the range because it will give a slightly soft outline rather than a crisp, clean line so perfect it with either a qtip, concealer or apply with a lip brush.

The formula of this lipstick is thin and lightweight making this easily one of the most comfortable to wear and it's not at all sticky. The colour is so opaque and pigmented plus it is sweetly scented, like jellybeans...I quite like scented lip products but it can be a bit distracting since it smells so delicious (I don't recommend licking or eating this off your lips though!). Depending on how much you use, this liquid lipstick goes on creamy with a fairly medium shine that sets to a semi-matte finish, however after 2 or 3 hours later, I find that this fades down to a soft colour and a completely matte stain. Be warned, this lipstick will accentuate and cling to every single dry and flaky piece of skin on your lips, so definitely remember to thoroughly exfoliate and prep beforehand. I did find this to be slightly drying on my lips though but it's nothing too extreme it may just be because of the eating and constant licking of my lips, who knows…but it touches up/reapplies without any issues.

Chihuahua is a dusty mauve shade which is a very wearable everyday nude and has a staying power of at least 3 hours. It does hold up through light eating and drinking, but after that it will only be a faint
stain on the lips and will require a quick touch up.

    1. It's doesn't even bleed and it's so lightweight and the applicator actually makes it a lot more even and smoothed out without looking overdone and gloopy
