Revlon matte balm

This is just a quick review. Nothing new, but I recently rediscovered the Revlon Matte Balm and I just had to give it a quick mention.

Product description
  • Medium buidable velvety colour payoff
  • Velvety matte finish
  • Comfortable and moisturising- "Balm like"
  • Gliding and weightless/modern feel on lips
  • On trend finishes
  • Classic peppermint fragrance
  • Triple moisture Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter
  • Moisturising polymers and light esters for comfort and hydration
The Revlon Matte Balm comes in 10 different colours. I picked mine up in the shade 'sultry' which is a deep berry-mauve. This product is very pigmented and opaque with a velvety matte finish that's slightly creamy and once it wears off, it leaves a lovely blush stain. I recommend blotting with a tissue after applying if you want a complete matte finish, also it helps boost the longevity of this product and minimises transfer. Ironically, I do find that this can cling to dry and chapped lips, even though it is a balm. It's best to prep your lips beforehand to prevent unsightly, accentuated flakes. Although this matte balm has a tendency to cling to dry patches, if you apply this after exfoliating, I find the lips feel a lot more smooth and moisturised with a slight minty scent and feel. The formula of this balm is very creamy, lightweight and non-sticky making application smooth like butter and the colour of this product did not bleed or feather, but unfortunately the product is packaged in a chunky retractable crayon-like form which really does compromises it's precision. I don't care for unrealistically crisp lines but if that's your thing you're going to have to work around that problem with a concealer, a sharpener, a lip brush or a lip liner.

The Revlon Matte Balms can be found at Priceline, Big W, Target and selected Chemists Australia-wide and they currently retail for $17.95 AUD which is pretty steep for a drugstore product but never fear because you'll often see them on sale from 30% off. There are also different variants in the Revlon Colourburst Crayon Collection so there's plenty of other options in different finishes for you to select from.

I hope this mini review is informative enough for you guys! Please feel free to leave comments or feedbacks! I would love to hear your thoughts too! x
