Sephora Exclusive - Beauty Blender *

For those of you who have been out of the loop, Beauty Blenders are now exclusive to Sephora Australia and officially launched in stores earlier this month on Friday, 3rd.

Beauty Blenders might just be one of the most acclaimed products to have ever hit the make up scene. This product is marketed as the world's first hi-definition cosmetic sponge applicator that applies make up flawlessly in 3 easy steps: wet, squeeze and bounce. This tool is created to provide a professional finish and flawless complexion.

This elliptical-shaped sponge applicator is easy to handle, easy to use and the pointed tip allows you to cover hard-to-reach areas. This sponge has a suede texture and is soft to the touch. Once the Beauty Blender is saturated in water, it will increase in size considerably. Next step is to squeeze out excess water and towel-dry your sponge. This tool applies cream products, high coverage foundations, concealers, BB and CC creams flawlessly. I wouldn't recommend using water-base products as it will just soak right into the sponge and can cause wastage.

This product distributes product evenly and gives the skin a beautifully smooth, airbrushed finish. I love the bouncing technique - it is quite pleasant and effective, however, it's not as efficient as a brush, but I definitely prefer the smooth finish it gives. This tool can and will sheer down the coverage of the foundation a little bit, but it will leave you with a more natural and sheerer coverage (dependent on your foundation) opposed to using fingers or a brush, and it blends product effortlessly. This is definitely a fool-proof tool.

Beauty Blenders are quite fragile and prone to rips and tears so always try to handle it with care, avoid pulling or gripping it with force or penetrating it with nails while you're applying foundation. Once you are done with the sponge, I suggest giving it a quick rinse and mount it ontop of it's original packaging for it to airdry and shrink back.

To thoroughly clean the Beauty Blender, dampen the sponge and gently swirl it in the Solid Blender Cleanser, which is a small, solid bar of soap for sponges or brushes. Beneath it is a perforated grill which holds the soap above the base so that you can easily drain water afterwards. Avoid harsh pulling and tugging as it can damage the sponge.

In my opinion the Beauty Blender is a must have for any beauty addict, it definitely improves the look and texture of foundations and is one of the best ways to apply products, including concealer, cream contour and blushes, powders or cream/liquid foundations. A truly indispensable tool indeed.

As previously mentioned, the Beauty Blender is now available at Sephora and retails for $27 AUD. Feel free to discuss or drop any questions in the comments page! x
