Nudestix

Over the long weekend I popped into Sydney Sephora for a bit of cheeky spending. I went in with a list of things I was planning on purchasing but due to their extreme popularity, almost everything ended up being sold out. I did manage to snag a couple of NUDESTIX though…

For those of you who are not yet familiar with NUDESTIX, these products are simply described as "a simple collection of easy-to-use makeup crayons that cover all the bases and give you a fresh-faced, nude look. Enriched with skin-saving vitamins, antioxidants and moisturisers, each multi-purpose NUDESTIX is loaded with just enough colour to get the job done and leave you glowing".

These multipurpose eye pencils come packaged in their own individual matte tin containers each containing a sharpener. This product is perfect for travelling since it's just so sleek and portable and it also includes a a nifty mirror on the backside of the lid. These are both convenient and innovative no-fuss products, easy to use and apply, touch-up and blends well with fingers - no brushes needed.

I picked up the Magnetic Eye Colour Pencil in Spirit and the Eye Pencil in Pewter. Although these are both identical in shade (unfortunately for me) they differ in texture, consistency and perform slightly different tasks.

The Nudestix Magnetic Eye Pencils are described as "a new generation of eye liner, eye shadow and highlighter all in one that offers precise or smoky cream-to-satin eye colour effects." These claim to be long wearing, super-gliding and easy to blend waterproof eye colour.

The Nudestix Eye Pencil in Pewter claims to be "a long-wearing eye shadow pencil that highlights, provides intense colour, precise lining and primes lid for all-day wear". They are also soft, super gliding and easy to blend, waterproof eye colour ideal for oily lids. The eye pencils come with a sponge-tip smudger/blender as well.

These are both highly pigmented products that are easy to use and apply - perfect for beginners as they are both mess and fuss-free. They both have a fairly creamy consistencies firm enough that they don't yield to pressure but soft enough that they glide on the lid without tugging or pulling on the skin like the NARS soft touch eye pencil unfortunately does. I found that the Eye pencil was a bit smoother, softer and a lot easier to blend where as the Magnetic Eye Pencil set fairly quickly however I found it to be longer-wearing than the Eye Pencil (MEP 8 hours, EP 6.5 hours).  I did find these to be slightly creasing on my lids, but that's just inevitable because my lids naturally have multiple folds…curse my awkward eyes!

As you can see Pewter (left) and Spirit (right) are identical in shade. They both have the same iridescence and colour pay off however the NUDESTIX Eye Pencil in Pewter can be blended out to a sheer finish and the NUDESTIX Metallic eye pencils have a bit of a higher intensity with greater opacity.

Every product in the entire NUDESTIX range currently retails for $31AUD each exclusively at Sydney Sephora, alternatively you could buy these online at Urbanoutfitters, SpaceNK, Cult Beauty or Beautylish. At this time, most of their best selling products are sold out but once the shelves are restocked I'm definitely going to try and pick up their lip and cheek pencils in Whisper, Mystic and Soul!
