YSL Volupte tint in oil No.5 Cherry My Cherie

Whenever a new product hits the high street, it's hard to ignore the hype. I gave in pretty quickly when I found the new Yves Saint Laurent Tint In Oil at Mecca Maxima. Here's why this product is my make up bag essential.

The YSL Volupte tint in oil is marketed as a revolutionary lip colour with a lip tint suspended in a deep conditioning oil. One coat is suppose to give you a lightweight, non-sticky tint with a high luminous shine.

The packaging of this product is so luxurious and sleek! YSL products are typically gold, but this breaks the mold in a gorgeous silver tube embossed with their iconic YSL logo. The applicator is small with a pointed tip allowing smooth and precise application.

The formula of this lip tint is thick and glossy but not at all //sticky or overly heavy. It's very conditioning, and leaves the lips feeling soft and hydrated with a natural tint of colour.

When I first applied the YSL volupte lip tint, the colour is quite sheer but it gradually becomes more saturated with colour. The oil/gloss lasts up to 2-3 hours on my lips, but once it wears off, it turns into a gorgeous soft tint with full, even coverage. The stain is transfer-proof and lasts through eating and drinking and fades evenly without patchiness and the colour did not bleed or feather for up to 8 hours! The scent of this lip tint smells sweet and fresh like melons! The best thing about this product is it looks even better each time you reapply it! The colour becomes more intensely saturated and rosier.
From left to right - Tint in oil when first applied, stain after oil has worn off and the colour of the tint once it's reapplied. I purchased the YSL volupte tint in oil in the shade #5 'Cherry my cherie' which is a beautiful rosy pink stain.

This product retails for $49 AUD at Mecca Maxima, and YSL counters at Myers and David Jones also available online.
