Limited Edition Benefit x Swarovski They're Real Mascara* / Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

For a very limited time only, Benefit Cosmetic's cult favourite They're Real Mascara will be flaunting a new matte black packaging, embellished with Swarovski crystals. Same great formula, same quality, same unique wand.

Now you all know that I am already a long-time fan of the Benefit They're Real Mascara. This product claims to effectively lengthen, curl, volumize, lift and separates the lashes. It's jet black, long-wearing formula is smudge proof, and will not dry out.

The design and packaging of the limited edition They're real mascara is stunning… It feels luxurious and looks glamorous with an edgy bad-ass #lashitude appeal. The wand is straight with firm plastic bristles which I find to be perfect for lengthening and separating the lashes. The custom dome-tip helps to precisely coat even the tiniest lashes to define and emphasise the lashes from root to tip.

This mascara really does live up to all it's claims.  It lengthens, volumises and lifts the lashes to define  and hold in your curls, replicating falsies…it's no wonder the mascara itself has to proclaim that they're real! The formula is waterproof, transfer proof and smudge proof for a minimum of 8 hours and will not irritate the eyes, flake away or weigh down the lashes. Bear in mind, this mascara can and will start to visibly clump after 3 generous coats, and it can take a little bit more effort to remove with generic make up wipes or make up remover so you're best off investing in the Benefit They're Real Remover, which from what I hear, is a creamy gel formula that's very gentle and dissolves waterproof make up like a boss…Something I might need to pick up at a nearest counter because…

The Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner is an innovative Lash-hugging gel liner. This product is impressively long-lasting - I'm talking all day wear without smudging, transferring or drying out and flaking away. This gives me crisp dramatic wings day to night without having to touch up or clean up! It's ultra-matte black formula hugs the lash line and gives my eyes a more bigger and open look. The Accuflex tip proved to be pretty helpful as well, pushing down the lashes so I can get a more closer and precise application.

This push up gel liner does take a little bit of practice and will require wiping before each use for a smooth, fresh application. The Benefit They're Real eyeliner also proved to be a little difficult to remove, so you're definitely going to rely on a really good make up remover to gently dissolve all the product off…regardless it is one of the best eyeliners I have ever tried that did not smudge, rub off or transfer (common problems with typical Asian monolids).

The They're Real Push Up Liner is now available at Benefit counters at Myers and online for $37 aud and the Limited Edition They're Real Mascara will retail for $45 aud early next month.

September favourites

This month I've been indulging in a few new products and a few old and well-loved ones. Bobbi Brown BB Cream SPF 30 was and still is my holy grail BB cream. This yields a very natural light to medium coverage with a luminous dewy finish. It's creamy, moisturising, pore-refining and provides a decent amount of sun protection, perfect for dull, dry skin

I have always loved the Lancome Miracle Cushion foundation, and this month I've been using this product almost exclusively. This provides a light to fairly medium coverage that's ultra lightweight on the skin. This water-based formula is very hydrating and provides a gorgeous dewy, flawless and natural finish. The best thing about this cushion foundation compact is that it's portable, great for touch ups and quick fixes.

The Urban Decay Revolution High Colour Lip Gloss in the shade 'Liar' is this month's bag essential. It is the perfect medium pink-beige nude shade. It's has the colour intensity of a lipstick, shine of a lipgloss and sits comfortably on the lips. These lip glosses are easy to apply and they make the lips appear more fuller and plump. For all the above reasons, this is one of my favourite everyday lip colour this past month.

Lately I've been flaunting a bit of an exaggerated highlight. I feel that it defines and adds a lot more dimension to my face. Whenever I strobe, you best believe I'm using my holy grail Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01*. This product has a sheer, buildable intensity and provides a very soft, luminous finish perfect for highlighting the tops of the cheek, the cupids bow, down the bridge of the nose and brow bone. If you're looking for a ride or die highlight powder, I highly recommend the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance baked powder.

Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm have amassed nothing but rave reviews since it's release and I cannot fault them; they definitely live up to all the hype. I received mine in the shade 'raspberry ripple' which is a lovely pink-mauve shade but the one I recently bought, and have been obsessed with is 'Cinn-ful' which is a slightly cool-tone medium/deep beige the perfect MLBB shade. This is the perfect shade, the perfect formula and the perfect size to carry around in my make up bag. This has a rich, creamy texture that's super smooth, super saturated with a cream sheen finish. These lipsticks are infallible and they're easily my most loved products. Ever.

Brushes are indispensable tools. I prefer using brushes over any other or tool, applicator or method when it comes to applying my make up as it is a lot more efficient, gives me a lot more precision and blends my make up seamlessly. I have been using my Sigma Beauty Brushes* exclusively as they are made of very soft, synthetic fibres that do not scratch, irritate or micro exfoliate the skin. They apply and blend both cream and powder products exceptionally well and I cannot stand to live without them. My favourites are the Flat Kabuki F80, 3D HD Precision Brush, Buff and Blend E39 (not pictured), Angled Brow Brush E75(not pictured), Small Contour Brush F05, Tapered Highlighter Brush F35. Each of these can be found here at Sigma Beauty.

I have been a loyal fan of the Philosophy Skincare Renewed Hope in a Jar* for a while now so when they recently formulated a Renewed Hope in a Jar specifically for very dry skin types, I immediately knew it would be the one for me, even though I was already more than satisfied with the current Hope in a Jar moisturiser. I instantly fell in love with it - it is deeply moisturising, cooling and works to retexture dull and dry, flakey skin instantly. It's super rich and emollient and gives the skin a smoother, dewy glow. I especially love how it feels once it's absorbed into the skin, it doesn't feel masking, heavy, greasy or tacky; It just feels and looks like healthy, hydrated skin. If you have very dry, dehydrated or ageing skin, I highly recommend trying these.

Paula's Choice skincare is still fairly new to me, but I've been testing the Skin Recovery range for a while now, and I have nothing but love for them. I am especially impressed with the Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Softening Cream Cleanser* lately that I've also been using this exclusively over the past couple of months. I've been using this religiously with my sonic cleansing device and I noticed a dramatic difference in the texture of my skin. I find that it is a lot more smoother, more hydrated and a lot more supple. It's super gentle on my dry, sensitive skin and did not cause any skin irritations or break outs. It's non scented and performed really well; deep cleansing and replenishing my skin as well as effectively removing make up residue. This product gets a big tick of approval and high recommendations from me! Love, love, love.

Lately, I've been obsessed with strobing and have completely rejected contouring because it does require a lot more effort to blend and perfect, however, after recently discovering how to 'tontour', I've been obsessed with the St. Tropez Everyday Face Light/Medium Gradual Tan*. This is the perfect shade for contouring and although it does seem a little intimidating, gradual tanning is a lot more forgiving and natural, and under foundations, it looks a lot more subtle and seamless.

In the shower, I've been lathering myself with Dove's Aqua Moisture Nourishing Bodywash* and the Sanctuary Spa White Lily & Damask Rose Body Wash*. I have always loved Dove products, but Sanctuary Spa has been killing it with their bath and body products, lately. They're luxurious, they smell beautiful, sensual, alluring…and the packaging is just gorgeous. The Sanctuary Spa Salt Scrub is also a favourite of mine lately for full body exfoliation. I love the scent, I love scrubbing dry, flakey dead skin off and the oils from the scrub feels super nourishing and moisturising.

After showering, I normally follow with St. Tropez Prep and Maintain Tan Enhancing Moisturiser*. The scent is lovely, and it gives my skin a more softer, smoother and moisturised appearance and texture. I use this days before I fake tan to make sure my skin is properly prepped for a natural, even coverage.

Whenever I'm feeling fancy, instead of using the tan enhancing moisturiser, I'll switch it with the Kit Cosmetics Body Lotion. This lotion is sweetly scented like vanilla smoothie and is fairly moisturising and skin-softening. I love this especially for it's pleasantly sweet scent and I sometimes prefer using this over perfumes.

Daniel Wellington *

Daniel Wellington watches are undeniably sleek; modern and classic and is definitely a cult favourite. Their simplistic design is truly timeless and is inspired by preppy fashion trends.

The Classic Sheffield features an "eggshell white" dial, Japanese quartz movements and comes in either rose gold or silver cases. The straps are made from genuine Italian calf leather with a pin buckle closure. The one I currently own is 36mm in diameter and 6mm in thickness - ultra thin and very comfortable to wear since they're fairly light and adjustable. This is a beautiful, classic piece and the straps are interchangeable so you can customise them to suit any occasion. It's minimalistic style will compliment any outfit, dressy or casual. These watches are water resistant up to 3ATM, however, it is best to avoid direct contact with water as it will cause the strap to substantially deteriorate.

Each of these watches come in their own leather gift box and retail for $195 USD at Daniel Wellington. Free shipping is offered worldwide on all watch purchases. From now until 30th of September, you will receive 15% off when you use the code 'hauteflashes'.

Urban Decay Revolution High Colour Lip Gloss

I'll admit, when I first saw the new Urban Decay lip glosses, I quickly assumed that they were mediocre and over hyped, so I quickly bypassed them. Fortunately, I bought this on the spur of the moment and have been raving about it ever since. Kicking myself for not collecting a few more while I was there…

The Urban Decay Revolution High Colour Lipgloss comes in 14 different shades in a variety of nudes, brights and deeper, bolder colours. It has the intensity of a lipstick and the shine of a lipgloss. Each of these glosses are packaged in a clear, luxe tube with dark chrome accents and a doe foot applicator. The applicator is firm with a bit of a pointed tip for precise and even application.

The texture of this lip gloss is very plush, smooth and creamy. Unlike the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lip glosses - which provides a more natural, sheer colour and coverage, the Revolution High Colour Lipgloss is rich in pigment, with an intense colour pay off. These come in a range of both cream and shimmery finishes that are just opaque.

The consistency of this product is thick and creamy but it's lightweight and very comfortable on the lips. It does leave a bit of a tacky feel, but it is very hydrating and do not accentuate fine lines, cracks or flakey lips. It does have a subtle vanilla scent, very pleasant unfortunately it doesn't linger very long and it has absolutely no taste. This lip gloss instantly makes the lips appear fuller and plump, and it does not bleed or feather. The formula is long wearing, lasting up to 6-8 hours with very light eating and drinking. It can transfer (obviously…), and you may need to touch up during the day, but it's quite travel-friendly and conveniently fits in any bag, clutch or wallet since the tube is rather flat.

I purchased the Urban Decay Revolution High Colour Lipgloss in the shade 'liar', which is a medium pinky-beige nude with cool undertones. 'Liar' is one of the most flattering 'MLBB' shades and has definitely been one of my go-to products and everyday essential.

This product retails for $32 exclusively at Mecca Maxima and is a part of the Urban Decay's permanent range.
