I received this a couple of weeks ago and have been testing it almost everyday since for the sake of this review. The packaging of the Air Patrol BB cream eyelid primer is fun and super cute. It comes in a pen form, not too bulky, so it definitely is quite travel-friendly and it contains 4.0mL worth of product. The Benefit Cosmetics Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer features a 'stress-free', pressure-free Cushion Calm applicator with a slanted tip that is described to be even softer than a pinkie. It's so flexible and squishy! To dispense product, you will need to twist the base until product is pushed upwards and out. Now I'll admit this process can be a little tedious and frustrating, remember to take your time with this because if you twist it excessively product will ooze out fairly quickly and it'll be a big mess…and waste.
The formula of the Benefit Air Patrol is quite thin and almost aqueous in consistency, though it did look to be rather creamy. It's lightweight, very cooling, soothing and hydrates the eyelids to relieve dryness and smooth out uneven skin texture without feeling oily or greasy. This primer has a bit of a beige tint and it seemed to slightly reduce discolouration - so yes, it does have colour-correcting abilities. The texture of it quite wet but once blended into the skin and given time to set, it will be smooth and undetectable. This product contains 'EnviroDefend complex' which claims to help guard delicate eyelids against sun, smoke and pollutants. This eye primer also claims to extend the wear of eyeshadows, enabling long-lasting colour that will not crease, fade or smudge.
I do agree with the consensus; The Air Patrol BB cream eyelid primer does extend the wear of eyeshadows, as well as make them appear more vibrant and intense. My eyeshadows did not fade or smudge, I have multiple folds in my lids, but experienced zero creasing, so I'm extremely impressed and satisfied with this product.
The Benefit Cosmetics Air Patrol BB cream eyelid primer will be available at Myer from the 16th of October. Who's excited to see this on Benefit Counters?!
