In my opinion, NARS is faultless and always on trend so whenever they come out with a new product or limited edition range, I know I must have it.
The NARS Dual-Intensity Blush claims to deliver "purely pigmented colour with seamless customisable coverage that defies genre with a silky, wet/dry formula of unprecedented artistry". This blush will give you a healthy glow when applied dry and a "translucent, second-skin finish" when applied wet.
These blushes come in a very sleek, matte-black compact in 6 variations. I got mine at Mecca Maxima in the shade 'Panic'. This blush duo is very firm and silky smooth in texture but the consistency is quite dry and I find it takes a bit of effort to pick up a decent amount of product on a standard blush brush. Alternatively, this can be applied with a beauty blender, fingers or the NARS wet/dry blush brush #23.
'Panic' is described to be a shimmering shocking fuchsia (left) and a shimmering orange-pink (right). Both of these shades contain a considerable amount of very fine, iridescent shimmer, however on the skin it's translate as a subtle lustre finish which reflects the skin's natural glow. These blushes perform really well and blend seamlessly with a tiny bit of effort. Despite the shades both looking intimidating and overpowering in the pan, these blushes give a fairly faint, natural flush of colour with a bit of a soft-focus sheen. However, do not underestimate this product, these blushes are still very rich in colour and provides an incredible amount of pigment when built up to desired intensity.
I'm not sure if you can tell from the swatches, but when they're used wet, the colour looks to be a little more translucent, but the finish of this blush is significantly amplified, yielding a more frosty, metallic finish.
The lasting power of blushes are normally dependent on your base/foundation - I applied this ontop of the NARS All Day Luminous weightless foundation and it wore beautifully up to 4-5 hours before slightly fading. This has definitely been a go-to product for me and a travel essential since it a fairly small compact and it fits conveniently in my purse.
NARS Dual-intensity blushes currently retail for $65 AUD at Mecca Maxima and Mecca Cosmetica online and in stores and are a part of their permanent range. This is definitely a high-end, luxury item, and for the price…it's not necessarily something you need but it is definitely nice to have/collect!
